I've been working as a qualified nutritionist since graduating
from Kingston University with an Honours degree in Biomedical
Science followed by a Masters degree in Nutrition at King's
College University, London in 1995. I am now what they call a
Registered Public Health Nutritionist (RPHNutr.) with the
Nutrition Society and have been fortunate to work with prominent
food manufacturers and nutritionists to set nutrition policy,
educate consumers and health professionals and input into
Government consultations on diet and health. My experience spans
both Sales, Marketing and Public Relations, Technical and
Scientific and I currently work as Nutrition Manager at Müller®
Dairy (UK).
Outside of work commitments, I am involved in charity work for
cancer and am privileged to have worked with Cancer Black Care to
film a DVD to help raise awareness of preventative nutrition and
healthy eating amongst cancer patients. I have also worked very
closely with the Prostate Cancer Charity – another charity very
dear to my heart.
In 2004, a passion to teach nutrition in the Christian
arena began to manifest. Being a Christian myself, I was drawn to
study (and continue to study) what the Bible (God) has to say
about it and was astounded with what I found, along with the fact
that not much priority is given to this vital topic within
churches as a whole. The length of the prayer lines for healing
concerned me - especially as we are taught that God is our Healer
– coupled with the fact that the UK is now experiencing an obesity
epidemic and nutrition has become a Government priority yet the
church as a whole is not acknowledging this and the fundamental
principles of healthy eating are not being addressed.
It was also in 2004 that I was introduced to the world
of Christian media and became Resident Nutritionist for Premier
Christian Radio Station and a regular contributor on Revelation
TV. It was during this time I also penned and published my debut
publication “The Creator’s Diet – Biblical Insights for Healthy
Eating” to raise awareness of this issue in the Christian arena
specifically, but not restrictively (buy your copy of The Creator's Diet online now). It is an honour to be an
ambassador of my faith with such a crucial, timely message that
can positively impact lives and I continue to raise awareness
through presentations, conferences, seminars, media interviews and
articles as well as working full time.
Even though I am back and forth in London on a regular basis, I
now reside in Shropshire. Not many people seem to have heard of
Shropshire, but it really does exist - on the borders of Wales in
fact – nice and quiet, and peaceful. Just the way I like it.
